What you think of my newer ones from a professional perspective?

on a professional level the choice of fonts for the caves of Fear seem not quite fitting to the content, maybe a fonts that has something like a grunge effect to it or gritty something like that instills some uneasiness to the artwork, when I saw it first I thought it was one of those adult soft porn interactive games from vivid films..lol..I respect that you're keeping with the Jaguar CD form in layout and design, but I feel them days have passed now and need some kind of 2012 visual injection to them, rather than the black, maybe some spatters of blood beneath the text and refrain from explaining too much on the back cover, larger fonts are our friends :)

another idea is to have your screenshots like a film strip across the top , text in between and then some more screenshot film striped at the bottom, another one would for me at least , would extract a main character from a clip and have them down along side the box and have the text follow the contours on the characters shape, but maybe a bit of a task for you to do, but in allot of cases , well worth the effort if you can put it off..

well it will be something you'll have to look into for future covers..there is nothing stopping you watermarking the background cover with an image at 20-30 % opacity under the text to set it alite..will add a bit of sparkle to your covers..using a bold heading and then normal sized text broken up with screenies you'll be amazing many cover actually have very little on the back these days.

The biggest challenge I faced with that Caves Of Fear one was that I couldn't find a high res, or anything other than tiny, Cinepak logo so I actually drew that one myself in Paint!!!!  :o

Look at another one I did recently and you will see the lack of text on the back:

yeah the Marble Madness cover is very good and very commercial looking, simulating this on other unknown titles can bear a homebrew look, due to the variables in source materials and artwork, these guys just don't product it in that manner, which is a shame, but if you are able to reverse engineer it to something a software house would have done back in the day, then your public will thank you for it , especially if it is software that has been newly made..but yes you have done some great work on your covers, but time to pull out all the stops. :)

Here's the complete version.

It prints amazing as its Hi Res. (Not the preview though)

I will be adding an area for covers soon.

Cheers

I like it but I think it needs a bit more to it, the front is a bit boring.

Greyfox

It's nice and colourful but the blank space in the back is really annoying me, can this not be filled with maybe a bolder font and a bigger size, break up the back cover more, rather than the text being lost all on it's own?

The logo is on the back twice, which is not done, So I would remove the logo at the bottom or replace the image up in the left top corner without the logo with something else, and centre the logo below instead of to one side.

I like it other than this, and soothing I would of done, was used that striped image at 50% opacity on the back, so rather than black hole black, as least the back cover would of had some thought put in to it..I hope this helps you improve and to try and see these type of mistakes in your future work, it's all about gathering the knowledge and using it to the full ;)

I left it like that to account for a minimalistic look. Much like the game. Lol

You watched the video I posted then  ;D

Yeah there is a fair bit of custom work in that believe it or not. I might make the bottom back look busier but overall that's it. If I knew it would fly of the shelves I might have dedicated more time.
