GCN was my first disc based console, and one of my favorites. Logged many hours on it, but ultimately got PS2 for racing games, of which GCN has few.

TrekMD

Cool to see you around, sloan! I just recently got a GameCube, so I'm new to the system. Started getting games for it. :)

I have a GC with the excellent Gameboy player, I also would use it to play emulators on. I have Snes,Genseis,NES emulators on it.

TrekMD

I have the GameBoy player for mine as well. Love that add-on. I'm guessing the emulators require a soft-mod.

For the emulators I used Action Replay and an SD card, highly recommended!

During the Xbox/PS2 days, I went with the Gamecube when it had a price drop to $100. I went to the local Wal-Mart and bought promotional set that included the GBA player (one of the best add-ons ever!) and the Ocarina of Time Master Disc. Not bad for $100!

I thoroughly enjoyed my little platinum system. I enjoyed playing Rogue Squadron, Sega Soccer Slam, NBA Street Vol 3, Luigis Mansion and the Pikmin games among others. And Animal Crossing, which to me was the greatest version of the game due to the hidden NES games!

It also had some quirky, original titles like ODAMA!

Quote from: "davyk"I suspect the GBA player has enabled an awful lot of GBA youtube videos.

It helped me when I recorded this review of Okie Dokie. I'm betting I'll be using it again in the future!

The Gamecube: The little system that could!

That Odama is one weird game. I think the programmers were on crack when they were working on it! LOL

Yeah now that game would win a lot of awards if there was some for weird games lol :109:

I forget about the Gameboy player - I recently waxed lyrical about playing Tetris on the Retron 5 when I've actually got two Gameboy players...

Mariokart, Fzero, Super Mario Sunshine, Ikaruga, Metroid Prime, Burnout 2, Rogue Squadron, Lego Star Wars 1+2, Viewtiful Joe, Resident Evil 4, Luigis Mansion and Smash Bros all big favourites in my household. Not to mention the the controllers have been used the last two generations for Mariokart and Smash Bros on the Wii and WiiU. I got my Wavebird for a £5 and it's still going strong - it even works on the GC adaptor for SSB WiiU.

TrekMD

I've already gotten some of those. :)

I missed some - Donkey Konga 1,2 and Jungle Beat (with the drums), Zelda Windwalker, Mario Golf, Mario Party 4, Namco Museum, Pikmin, Simpsons Hit and Run + Road Rage, super Monkey Ball 1+2, Wave Race.

Great system!

I also did enjoy pokemon colosseum. Although you needed a big memory card!

Here is a top 10 list of games for the GameCube from the folks at WatchMojo. Some of the games on the video have not been mentioned here, so figured I'd share the video and get some comments.

This thread hasn't seen any action in a while. Here is a video fro the Top Hat Gaming Man looking at the console in 2018...

That ability to use the GBA Player is now tempting me to get a GameCube. I'd love to be able to play my GB/GBC/GBA games on my TV using this!

Same here, i want to get a gamecube and gameboy player again. Cant get over the fact i had one and traded it in.
