Very interesting it'd be the first all in one system to house the pc engine in it!

I'll definitely be watching this, not usually into the all in one systems like the retron systems.

All sounds promising !
Currently collecting:- PC Engine, mastersystem, mega drive and CDi.

I'm guessing it's going to be an emulation machine then. I wonder how well it'll work.

TrekMD

That's a lot of systems this will be able to work as. I am wondering the same thing as hamie.

These are machines i just done get...if you emulate, you emulate, if you play using the original hardware you do that, this and retron are neither and imo pointless machines, people use the original hardware to get away from the emulation errors in software, you still get that on these machines with your original cartridge!

It's great to see so many new products designed around retro gaming, and it will be interesting to see where this goes from here. From what I've read it's definitely emulation based, but the draw here is the buit in upscaler which is supposed to output the games in 720P. Also the fact that it plays PCE and even SuperGrafx games is really cool!  It all depends on the price and the quality, a good balance and I'd be interested.

I think these fit the gap between those that neither want to setup emulation on any system and those that don't want to own all the systems..

They're for people who want to collect games for multiple systems, but don't want all the systems lying around taking up space. It's more of a convenience item that's suppost to replace multiple systems.

What I don't understand is why companies don't sell these in countries like South Korea and Japan where space is limited and games are plenty. They'd probably have better sales than say selling in the United States/Europe.

This one is from a Japanesse company so i suspect it will be.

You can install the game

The most distinctive feature of retro freak, is "install feature" of the game. By installing the game from the connected cartridge, after that you can play the game without connecting the cartridge. Since the insertion and removal of the cartridge is not required, as well as prevent the deterioration of the precious cartridge terminal, to change the playing style of retro games up to this greatly.

Controller suitable for retro games

The retro freak, wired controller comes with one. With a suitable controller to play retro games, also it is with retro freak dedicated button.

USB controller

By connecting to the USB terminal of retro freak, you can use a commercially available USB controller. Controller of the PS3 and PS4 are also available by the USB connection.

Was gritting my teeth when I saw this just after buying a Retron 5 but looking at the talk its ages away.  Very impressive with the PCE support, I'll be getting one.

zapiy

Agreed..

I am going to sell some of my gear and get a Retron5 and then get one of these.
