The folks from Duranik are doing done more run of Alpine Games for the Atari Lynx.  They are calling this the final production run and they are doing something special for this run.  Whether you already have this game or not, I think you may want to spend the money for it.  Below is their "press release."

Over the last years we got several requests for this game so we decided to make one last batch, this time the game comes in an original "Lynx style" cardboard box case, a printed full color 24 page manual and of course the game cartridge with a glossy color label and a small plastic case.

The game is using a 512 KB (4 Mbit) eprom, hiscores are saved on the cartridge.

For more information about the game take a look here http://www.duranik.com/lynx.html

As some of the parts have a minimum amount of quantity to order we are collecting preorders within the next weeks, if we don´t meet the minimum necessary for the production run we won´t start the production. We expect delivery of the game in May, no upfront payment is required.
  • The new game cartridge does not fit in a Lynx 1, it might be possible to fit it in if you remove the cartridge door but we have not tested this.
  • The game does not work well with a LCD replacement mod as it is using a couple of techniques to increase the color palette, this will result in bad flickering on modern displays.
  • The plastic case is produced with a process called "laser sintering". The surface is a little bit rougher than the original plastic cartridges.

Cool! Just sent an email to get put on the list.

TrekMD

So did I.  This looks fantastic and I really like the prototype cart design.

Awesome - thanks Trek!  Been on the lookout for this one for a while.  Just sent my email.

You're welcome!  The more folks sign up showing interest, the higher the probability this will get made.  :)

I sent in an email for one even though I have the original. The box design looks too good to pass up.

I believe a lot of folks are doing the same thing.  I know I did.  :)

An update about the game has been sent:

- The little plastic casing is changing from a 3d print to a real injection-moulded plastic case. We made this move because it should be of much higher quality. This involves higher tooling costs on our side but pricing of the game won't change. Production of the tooling starts next week, after that we get a couple of preproduction samples. If these are fine, full production starts.

- Boxes and inlays are ordered and we will get a sample box within the next two weeks.

- Manual is finished and we already have a sample, full production will start next week.

- Boards/chips are ordered; chips were already delivered and programmed.

I hope that everyone who wanted this ordered it because it has just been posted that it is sold out.

Another update has been sent about the release:

- All Boxes and inlays were delivered this week, as you can see from the
pictures, the inlay is rigid foamed plastic instead of the Atari style
cardboard as this protects and holds the shape of the box better.

- Manuals were delivered

- Samples of the plastic case are ready, as you can see from the
picture, the color and material "look and feel" is very close to the
original plastic. (bottom of the picture: original lynx game, middle new
alpine games case, top 3d printed prototype alpine games case)
There is still one problem with the plastic (small sink above the x)
which we try to resolve with the tooling company.

- PCBs with the soldered chips will arrive in the next 2-3 weeks, after
that we will put everything together.
