The title of the topic says it all.  This is a video I just found on YouTube that looks at consoles over 42 years!  Boy, that's a long time!  We have forum members here who weren't even born when some of theses consoles were released.  Sit back and enjoy.

Thanks for the link, was enjoying it for a while, then a few mistakes crept in year release wise, and the fact he has the same consoles in it repeated i.e numurous pc engine formats, when most are the same machine anyway, then missing certain consoles cdtv etc
Still a good video though!

Well, it's not easy to summarize 42 years of consoles!  It's a good video nonetheless.  It's cool to see all those consoles in one video.

There are a lot of consoles Ive not heard of, especuially in the 75-85 era as differnet companies and tech came to be dominant.

I'm also reminded of and saddened to miss the licencing of console tech to 3rd parties - 3D0, Saturn and CDi did this - can you imagine a Samsung 60" LED wih XBOne built in?

Yeah, you then would have 2 companies in your living room recording and uploading your conversations
