It occured to me i have paid some silly prices for games in my time. I remember paying £59 for Madden 99 on the N64 and £55 for AvP on the Jaguar.. these were the prices whilst the systems were still very much in the market.

So whats the most you have spent?

I seem to remember I got £5 off AVP so it was only £50, I did however pay £54.99 for a few other Jaguar games like Sensible Soccer and Brutal Sports Football. when they were new.

£55 for Sensible Soccer was nuts, one of the biggest cons in gaming history. I also paid around that for it on the SNES which sucked as the Amiga version was better and cost miles less.

Yeah I was not impressed by the price but that is Telegames for you, they always were expensive. At least it had some good improvements over all the other versions though.

I remember playing the SNES version and finding that it was very slow and very easy.

Some of my N64 games cost about 40 quid back in the day. That's the most I've ever spent on a game.

Yeah it was Telegames i purchased mine from.

Console Compulsive

If I remember this right, a couple of years ago I won Surgical Strike for the Mega CD at the handsome price of £39 inclucing postage from Ebay. Wouldn't normally have gone quite that far but I entered in a bidding war with someone who had beaten me on two previous items.

I will never ever be able to understand why people fork out all that money for Battlesphere, it's not even that good.

It's more than I wanted to pay believe me but it is only money, there to be spent and enjoyed.  I only got this as had the opportunity with redundancy money.

I've actually not played it that much, maybe a couple of hours.  I can't quite seem to 'get into it'.   :)

I think it was about £60 I paid for Street Fighter II on the PC Engine, perhaps more because I had to get a 6 button pad to go with it. I don't even like SF2 that much.

dot.fyre

Most of the "big" PS1 games cost me £50 at the time - Tekken 2, Wip3out, RE, Silent Hill, MGS.

DreamcastRIP

My top five most expensive game purchases,

Samba de Amigo official game + maracas box set (DC, NTSC-J, CIB) - approx. £90, iirc
GORF Special Edition (Jaguar CD, CIB) - £86
Panzer Dragoon Saga (Saturn, PAL, CIB) - approx. £85, iirc
Judgement Silversword (WonderSwan Color, CIB) - £68, iirc
Snatcher (Mega-CD, PAL, CIB) - approx. £55, iirc

Oh, and £400+ for OutRun Online Arcade (PS3, bonus Blu-ray Disc player included)! ;)

$150 for freaking DDP:DOJ, on the PS2.

.....and I ended up not really liking it.   Though the Death Label mode was fun.
