The History Of Mario

Today Mario is a worldwide icon, know by all of us. But in 1981, his birthdate, he was just another video game charecter. Nobody at the time thought he would become more popular than Pac-Man, the phenomenon of the time, or even Donkey Kong, the first Nintendo international ambassador. However it is he, after 20 years of video games, that remains the biggest icon of them all.

When writing the story of Mario, it is not so much question the question "Who is he?" as "Why him?". From New-York to Kyoto we offer you a thorough insight in the video games. Winding through the eighties, his games, his technological innovation and the beginnings of a new world order.

Written by Williams Audureau, expert in video game since 2002, The History of Mario will let you discover a new world though the eyes of the most famous plumber in the world.

This one is much different than the upcoming History of Sonic book.

There is no Nintendo license there, it's more of a scholar's work on the birth of Mario. The author has spent months researching, reading interviews and articles about Mario in archives to write this.

And one of the most amazing thing: it even made me want to watch Super Mario Bros. The Movie again!  :D

The History of Mario will be available at the end of next month, or perhaps at the beginning of November! Sorry for the wait!
Here is why it has taken so much time: http://www.retrovideogamer.co.uk/http://www.retrovideogamer.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2

Good news! We're all set to send the book to print!
And the lucky English readers will get a new hardback cover, which make the book look much better than the French version.  ;)

As soon as I have the precise date for the release, I'll let you know!
