Not to be confused with the Amiga or Famicom games that were actually released.  Here's all Wikipedia has on this:
Quote  There was also an unreleased and apparently unfinished Super Famicom game based on Akira by THQ, as reported in the 1993 CES Preview provided to subscribers of Electronic Gaming Monthly.

Cancelled Akira game [SNES / Mega Drive / Genesis]

Thanks for sharing this.  Akira and Project A-ko were my formal introduction to anime.  It looks like they chose the wandering beat-em-up motif for this?  THQ wasn't the most heartening name in the states.

ROM Hacking has an english patch for the famicom game.  I quickly got lost in the menu options and fell asleep.  My loss :)
