Got me excited too about some new news aswell :(

But on the news front the book was originally intended to be A5 size which I thought even at the time was way too small for the content , but since up scaled it now to A4 size so it much bigger and shows off things a lot better now :)

AmigaJay

Good news Greyfox, glad you are making the size double as i agree A5 would be too small.
Regarding the page count, maybe do a series of them i.e get it out the door as is, if it sells well do a volume 2 with maybe a special double book with both volumes in one as well?

Yes this was considered when I was in talks with Pixel Nation Publishing at the time before things went south, hence why the small page count, but in reality when thing didn't turn out the way they should have, I continued to finish the book off as one book only, and at the time before all these other books started appearing in this fashion they all extended the page count, this page was except able for the asking price at the time.

So to make this viable for retail now in the present climate of retro gaming related books I think I would have to add maybe another 40-60 pages of content across all the chapters in the book, new games , new summaries on the games and I reckon about 2 mths of work to add them and I have the dilemma with no proof reader as the previous proof reader who done it is no longer around or available to proof read  the text for the new content, so that is another issue, minor I guess but I have included the best of the best I think in this book to begin with, so it could be a stinker of a job to add too.

Okay, while taking a bit of break and with paid work dominating my direction And work flow, and creating digital painting for the video artistry compendium which is so bloody ambitious I should be seen by the doctor for putting myself under unimaginable pressure. So I decide to address the issues that I had put off in the coin op book, but I can now say I've redone and fixed and over hauled text alignment issues that were making the book look unprofessional and even added brand new sprite elements to existing features in the book, so I'm now consider adding maybe another 30-40 Pages with something extra but haven't worked out what yet but will bring the page count from the exsisting 130 to 160-170 page count of hardcaore arcade pron. so the project is very much alive and just need to work out how to go about getting this into production at the right cost. And if I decide to do a kickstarter for it , I then need to work out the perks, as the artistry book is still way behind been finished by about 40 pages so this might be the great entry into the style of production values that will follow the artistry compendium :)

So if you guys are interested, what ideas do you think would work in a book of this type as an extra , now keep in mind that the book consist of 5 different types of arcade games from driving, beatem'ups' action, shootem'ups and misc classic arcade games, plus some extra special coin op content to break it all up, so if any of you have any ideas you haven't seen before they might get included and if they do, I will send a signed copy to you if the book gets published as a thank you for your input .
