The ZX Interface 2 was a peripheral from Sinclair Research for its ZX Spectrum home computer released in September 1983. It had two joystick ports and a ROM cartridge slot, which offered instant loading times. The joystick ports were not compatible with the popular Kempston interface, and thus did not work with most Spectrum games released prior to the launch of the ZX Interface 2. In addition, the pass-through expansion bus provided was stripped, only allowing a ZX Printer to be attached.

All it really did was add joystick ports (the original Spectrum didn't have them) as well as the ability to use ROM cartridges instead of slow loading tapes. But it wasn't successful so these are now very rare!

And they must be quite pricey to get!

I still have 2 of these and 9 cartridges - I really like this interface - always worked flawless.

Any idea what the value would be these days?

I have seen these go for around the £50 mark on ebay, there would be people prepared to pay that sort of money but with carts, if they are in boxes you could be getting more. Best to ask on world of Spectrum or look on Ebay over the next few weeks.

I did get 2 interfaces although one isn't an official one. Both work, and I had 8 cartridges come with it. All for free to a good home right here. Since I fixed the Spectrum Plus which came with it all is working well too :-)
