What's the name of this game?

Hi everyone,

Years ago (I'm talking about 10 years ago, if not more!) I played a Playstation 1 / PSX game which I can't remember the name of.
I've got a feeling it was an action horror game, and the only details I can really remember is that you had to answer a public telephone, then walk a few streets and answer the next telephone etc. (No this isn't Die Hard or that level from GTA3).

Sorry to be vague, but I'm sure it was something similar to Resident Evil / Alone In The Dark / Silent Hill etc.

I think (again this is a huge long shot!) that the character had a brown jackets and fair coloured hair...but this may be guessing and completely inaccurate.

Has anyone completed either Silent Hill, or the others mentioned here? did it have cutscenes where you talk on a payphone, then have to find another?
I'm trying to recall other details on the game, but again this was years back...definitely in the 90's or first 2-3 years of the 00's
