Activision Achievement Patches

I decided to check online for information on the Activision Patches and I even checked on Ebay out of curiosity to see just for how much these things sell.  I was quite surprised to see prices as high as $45 for some of these individual patches!

So, while searching, I also found a couple of articles that discuss these very first achievement awards associated with video games.  Here are two that look at these.  The first one goes into more detail.  The second is more a picture set of patches for the different games and systems that had these available.

So, did anyone earn any of these?  Do you still keep them?  I managed to earn two of these back in the day:  The Roadbusters Patch for Enduro and The Cliffhangers for Pitfall II.  I still have these and here is a picture of them...

I actually earned 3 of these way back when. I got 'em for Pitfall, Kaboom, and Keystone Kapers. Unfortunately my brother and I got in an argument and he flushed them down the toilet

I have several Activision patches that I earned back in the 2600 days... kept them in a photo album/scrapbook. Also have a certificate for completing Championship Lode Runner and a few other mail-in rewards from back then.

Strange to see two variations of the Kaboom bucket brigade patch at the bottom of that pic. I have the one on the left with the rainbow trail bomber.

Very cool, Tom.  The variant on the Kaboom patch makes you wonder what was the reason for it.  Maybe a different score level?
