Let's Compare Slipheed

Silpheed is a video game series developed by Game Arts and first released in Japan in 1986.  Silpheed is the name of the spacecraft that the player controls. Like many shooter games, the story involves using the Silpheed as Earth's last effort to save itself from destruction by a powerful enemy invasion.  Several versions of the game exist and here is a video comparing them...

I never realised there was so many versions of Silpheed!

I knew the game originated on the NEC PC-88 but didn't know about many of the others.

The Mega CD version is superb, possibly my favourite game on the machine. The extra graphical touches and the sound really add a lot to the game. It's a real essential purchase for the system.
