Quote from: "retromod"Seems to be on the same chipset as the coleco flashback. Only changed emu layer nothing else. No slots, no permission to sell outside usa, canada due to missing compliance to european regulations and registrations.

Bad, that all these efforts only ends in one-way restricted emulations as a real intv on a chip based on vhdl is not really rocket science but would revive the whole scene. Costs would be not really higher but would also be acceptable if <200 dollar.
this is what I'm referring to.

The Atari Flashbacks and the Mega Drive Shitboxes have been released here so I fail to see any problem.

" Mega Drive Shitboxes "...wow, I've never heard of those, but they sound interesting.

That looks alot like the really cool Sega Genesis portable I bought. Funny name they gave your's "Mega Drive Shitbox" like they are trying to cash-in on the X-Box name.

It's the same thing. Made by (Sh)At Games and sold in Europe by Blaze/Funstock.

I call them shitbox because that is what they are, the emulation on them is bloody awful.

I have an Atari FB4.  I think the emualtion is not bad, though I still strongly prefer my 'real' 2600.
The biggest failing is not the quality of the emualtion or the hardware, but the extent of the library. The FB4 has a good 70 ROMs included, but they are all Atari licences.  Although there are some good games in there, a lot of the great licenced games or third party games are not included.

I do wish these came with cartridge ports.  Why not? I would still buy all of them if just for the interesting homebrew stuff on them.

well this is the box which was sold here with european requirements on our favorite discounter for 19,95 EUR.
I bought one for a friend as birthday present - well the quality is quite low specially the battery part is a mess.
not a big success - may be that's the reason the food discounter sold them  :24:
