$500 for an squashed ET carts that may not work?  Wow!  That's certainly unexpected, particularly given the "fame" of the game.

One copy of ET is now up to $800, and there's still 3 days left. Crazy doesn't even begin to describe it!

The items I had in my watch list ended last night.

You'll be astounded at some of the prices they went for. One E.T was £905.60 ($1425). Incredible!
So, the lucky bidder will have a nice new game land on their doorstep soon..... :109:

WiggyDiggyPoo

Sod it, its their money. Its not even a good game lol

I'm starting to wonder if all these sales will go through or if some of the buyers will back out. There can't be that many people willing to spend that much money for trash, can there?

Am I the only one who thinks they're not buying a game here, they're buying a slice of history.

Much like buying a fossil won't get you anything useable, one of these carts is just an interesting ornament with an unusual tale behind it.

Sure, it seems pricey to us, but to some collectors, that isn't expensive for something that may not turn up again for years once the initial sales pass.

I don't think you're on your own. I would assume everyone realises the buyer won't be playing this and its been purchased for its history.

Its still a game being bought for a relatively obscene amount never the less.
It's the irony that amuses me. These games were buried because nobody wanted to buy them, yet 30 years and a bit of folklore later..........

The documentary about this has been available on Xbox live for a while now (I keep forgetting to watch it), but for everyone who doesn't have that service and has wanted to see it, looks like you will be able to soon :) February 2nd it will be available on various VOD services http://ca.ign.com/articles/2015/01/20/a ... n-february

Great news, amazed it took this long, even with an Xbox live account I was unable to connect? , maybe this time I'll finally get to see what all the hype was :)

I saw some of it while at CGE in Vegas.  It's a cool documentary.  I've marked the date on my calendar so I can look it up in Google Play and Amazon.  I may be able to watch it free through Prime on Amazon.

Hey guys. I only joined this forum today and have only just caught up on this thread but in case any of you are wondering I purchased one of the Atari Dig cartridges. I won't say how much for lol but it was a lot. Here's a photo of it if any of you are interested and also a link to the YouTube video I did of me getting the cartridge.
