It appears that a new game will be developed using the same game engine.  In other words, no known characters will be part of the game.  This is probably what homebrew developers need to do - focus on original content to avoid this sort of stuff.

Willilam, that stuff with First Star sounds like a headache but I guess it is the attorneys who should be blamed.

William gets guff from all angles.  Software companies, developers and even irritating twerps like me who chime in when least needed.  I'm surprised there's an Intellivision homebrew scene at all :p

TrekMD

Well, there is what the new game using the same mechanics is looking like so far.  This  may be a game for Halloween for the Intellivision.  ;)

Sydney Hunter and the Caverns of Death arrived already as free online game and title for other consoles mid 2013. It was developed by Studio Pina. Is this an official adoption or simple they repeat without learning?  :2:

The official Pina website at http://studiopinagames.com/sydney.html do not provide the hint about an Intellivision version. Any hints?

btw. the upcoming title "sydney hunter and the mayan's revenge" looks like Montezuma's revenge, the levels are very close.....

Well, if you look here http://www.retrovideogamer.co.uk/http://www.retrovideogamer.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=54264#p54264 you will see that a game starring the same character is being developed for the NES as well. Also if you look at the names of the people involved you will see Jean-François (retroillucid), who is the person doing the new Intellivision game, and Keith Erickson who is the contact at Studio Pina. They seem to know each other so I think it will be okay!

TrekMD

Yes, the same character is being used in both games and there are plans for more games with that same character for more than just the Intellivision and the NES.
