Will watch later, but is that stupid Lenny Henry voiced quavers thing in there (ok the game starred an Ant, but LH was very annoying!)?

Hmm, quite an interesting selection of mascots that did not work.  I liked that Socket character and I also like Vectorman!

SnakeEyes

I really like Gamesack, probably my favorite YT show.

These seem more like one-hit wonders then failures.

My list would include:

Aero the Acrobat - SunSoft
Army Men -3DO
BattleToads -TradeWest
Bonk - NEC
Bubsy - Accolade
Gex - 3DO
James Pond - Electronic Arts
Joe and Mac - Data East
Rayman - Ubi-Soft

Each of these saw multiple console releases and somehow failed to last.

Rayman is still going strong so you might want to reconsider that choice! !!!

Agreed!  Rayman is still running aplenty!

I would love a new Bonk game, especially with hd graphics like the recent Rayman games.

I reckon he must be prime for a new game/remake. He was actually pretty popular back in the day.

Would be great to see them do something new with Wonder Boy too.

What I loved most about the recent Rayman games is not the games themselves ( although they are great ) but its what they represent.

they show that 2d has a future and they show it can look as good as any other game out there.

It also proves that there is a better way of doing modern 2d games, instead of using ugly cheap looking polygon models.

So many classic games that are never going to translate well to full 3D would benefit from this treatment. Look at dragon crown for instance, imagine a new Streets of rage, of Golden axe done like that.

One game I was thinking about recently when playing Rayman was Pitfall. the Lush jungles and the running and dodging traps etc.

I reckon a new pitafall game done like the recent Rayman games would look fantastic.

Could not have put it better myself.

I enjoyed Rayman and had no idea it was still around. Either I am out of the loop or it is poor marketing.

Doing a search showed the newer releases were not popular. On the same line it said it sold over a million copies. Really? A million is a lot. How many games have to be sold to be a hit anymore?

So that either proves my point that as a mascot Rayman is a failure or it is poor marketing of a hit game.

Minerals

Some good games featured on that video, but the guy that reviews stuff is an idiot. He clearly has no clue about how to play scrolling beat em ups if he thought Captain Commando has a limited moveset!  :33:

Compared to later Capcom beat-em-ups, and something like Streets of Rage? It honestly kind of does. It... never was my favorite Capcom beat-em-up, to be totally honest.

Here's the funny thing, though: You know how Punky Skunk looks like a SNES game?

It kind of was.
