El Stompo is the first ever game by Dave "R-Tape" Hughes, homebrew programmer and regular user of World Of Spectrum. This game  uses the impressive Nirvana engine that was released several months ago, a special multicolor display mode in high resolution that allows you to have a maximum of EIGHT colours in the same cell of 8×8 bits, as opposed to the usual two (ink and paper). We have Spectrum developer Einar Saukas to thank for this wonderful graphics engine that means the days of attribute clash are over and Speccy owners can have visuals to make other 8-bit computer owners jealous. The only thing missing from this wonderful game is some music for 128k Spectrum owners, it just uses 48k and the beeper at present, but that doesn't detract from this excellent title. There are plans though to add AY sound in the future.

You are El Stompo, TV repair thing of some considerable repute. Your job is very hazardous but you are very skilled. Fix all the tellies on each level by stomping on them, sounds easy? Well with a lethal mix of arcade and puzzle you'll find yourselves challenged. El Stompo's gameplay combines the two classic genres to great success and it's addictive gameplay will keep you coming back again and again. There are 35 Levels with infinite lives, redefinable keys and you'll probably find the restart button useful too! The game has been released for free for play on read hardware or emulators and you can read more about the development of game HERE and watch a video of it in action below.
