Which SNES Super Mario World to buy?

hi, i am wondering which snes super mario world game to get. it seems the red box version is rarer? i see there are several different variations though. full white cardboard frame to hold cartridge. plastic cartridge holder, or another white cardboard holder with only 3 sides. they all seem the same sort of price but if paying that price i would like to get the first version. any help would be appreciated as i would like to buy a mint condition one for girlfriend for birthday. thanks

also i was after mario kart for myself so again is the red box version the one to get?

i know i could just buy the cartridge but we have such a nice system that its a waste to have paid top dollar for that without a nice bunch of games to match.

If you're willing to pay for it, buy a mint condition original copy.  Not only is there nostalgia value but also a priceless collectors piece.

yeah thats the plan, just wondering if plastic cartridge tray or cardoard tray was first issue. any pointers on how to spot an original box? as see there are even replica boxes on ebay and wouldnt put it past some sellers to try their luck using one.

Is she interested in value or nostalgia?
I'd pass on it and go for value for money with Super Mario Allstars.

The box set we got has all stars. Tbh she would be happy with a £10 cartridge but the box set we have is such good condition (only slight ware on little flaps that tuck in) and 100% complete and console and so on is like new that it seems a shame to add to the collection with lose cartridges. All i am after is f zero, mario kart, super mario world but i will be looking for complete boxed ones in vgc to mint but not sealed as they are silly money. I guess il be putting in some hours on the net lol

had a good weekend on ebay also. Bought a megadrive of someone with OCD, its gleaming. Mint fully complete boxed game gear and game boy all in amazing condition like they just came off shelf maybe. Awaiting for post now. Is cool to have or soon to have all my old consoles:)

Thats one of the 3 down. Not sure if paid too much but was meant to be £70, got a f zero insight now so will try a deal on that. Cant find a good super mario 1 though atm.
