The Commodore PET (Personal Electronic Transactor) was a home/personal computer produced in 1977 by Commodore International. A top-seller in the Canadian and United States educational markets, it was Commodore's first full-featured computer, and formed the basis for their entire 8-bit product line.

Every time I see one of these older computers I am amazed at how much things have changed through the years.

Going to the final frontier, gaming...

To maintain this one you opened the hood!

we have had one in school. Looked ugly the old days due to the "calculator" keyboard which was a square the screen was soooo small. In comparison to an Atari the old days it was a computer from a previous world.

The story behind this device is funny as it was a quick shot by Commodore to get quick money without any big investments. A typical Tramiel production.

I am just reading Commodore: a company on the edge. He had some great talent there they were producing chips that sold for $25 that did the job of Intel chips that were 10s more in price. The book also explains for the revisionism put Apple in a better light and forgets the good work MOS tech did, without them we would be a few years behind where we are now and still paying higher prices for all tech. Trammell seems to be a sole merchant, and his Jack attacks were terrible, he treated some employees very poorly.

The keyboard wore out too quickly, it was a calculator board!

I'm not sure if it was within the mentioned book but there was a statement: for tramiel "development" meant to optimize the costs not to invent new technology. And this is the only motivation in all products of them.
