To have some fun or pass a quiz...
« on: January 23, 2014, 20:11:35 PM »
No, I'm not THAT Scooter-Computer, but I did have the same nick-name in my neighborhood when I was in 8th grade.  I'm old school, and grew up DURING the video game era's birth.
When I was in 2nd grade, my neighbor had the Atari, and we'd play break-out, Asteroids and etc.
When I was around 6th grade I got my first video game system: The Odyssey 2..and I was hooked! The next system I'd get is the Colecovision for the next Christmas, then the Atari Adapter for it (which is great, since I hate the Atari controllers), then the Atari 5200, then Intellivision, and then I crossed over to computers: TRS-80 CoCo, Apple IIc, Apple II GS, and so on.
So, I'm not really from the later era, but I do love the Sega Genesis and Turbo Grafx 16.
I'm glad to be here. I've been bored during these snow days, but that will probably change tomorrow and I'll be back to work, 80 hours a day.
I guess that's all the important information, but I'll be back tonight. I am thinking of getting out of my house, and raiding the Goodwill. I keep reading about all these glorious finds, and I haven't been in months. I normally find nothing, but...maybe today is my day?

Hi Scooter and welcome to RVG!  Based on your listing of systems that you've had you've come to the right place.  :)

one of my favorite games of my youth:

And I like to put my systems with their wires and stuff, and organize them in plastic bins(it's a bit messy, I'm trying to replace this with new shelves)

I've always done this, but back in the day the plastic bins were like suitcases, sort off, and I only had 2 of those for the two systems I kept at College.

somebody posted about a digital magazine, with more information on your site...Atari magazine.
I figured it'd be nice to be a part of a broader RETRO video gaming magazine.

oh, I was playing my new Atari 64 yesterday:

And thankfully the controllers were detachable. I do not like the original Atari Controllers (that style), so I used a Sega Genesis controller:

Does anyone else here put your games into the Universal Game Cases? I love them, and it looks great on the shelf.

oh, yes. I like them to look like the box, and they are more durable than the boxes.
I'll try to take some pics and upload them to my photostream. I uploaded over 100 pix of the loose Atari Games that I have here

except the Activision games...the label glue must have been bad, or something, because they all have a splotchy discoloration, which is common with poor paper or poor glue, either could be true.
