After a years wait the release of new Neo Geo homebrew Crouching Pony Hidden Dragon is finally approaching. This new shooter is not to be mistaken with the hacked pirate version of King of Fighters known as Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (that features Street Fighter backdrops in game). Crouching Pony Hidden Dragon is going to be the newest release from French coder Le Cortex. This follows on from their impressive puzzler Treasure of the Caribbean, also for the SNK machine.

This new release is going to be a welcome addition to the systems already impressive library of scrolling shooters. Taking place in a busy cityspace, your character must tackle his way through countless ninjas and enemies, gather cash to upgrade equipment, and level up through experience. The RPG elements in the game will set it apart from anything else released for the Neo Geo.

Neo Geo gets a fair few Homebrew titles and it does look great.

Looks cool and it fits the art style of their early action games, before they went all fighting games only.

Is there a chance for a CD release?  It would help their sales if there was (not everyone has a few hundred bucks to drop on a new game).
