This week the gaming industry will descend on Las Vegas for the Global Gaming Expo.

Among the new technology, executives and products announced are the latest slot machine releases. It seems that this year the '80s are on everyone's minds.

A movie tailor made for slot machine branding is "Ferris Bueller's Day Off." The multi-level progressive game features clips from the John Hughes classic. Bonuses include getting Ferris home first, outsmarting snooty maitre'd and getting your parents to buy your fake illness.

No word yet on when "Ferris Bueller" will hit casino floors or what local resorts will carry it, but we will keep you apprised.

For those who miss '80s arcade games, the classic "Atari's Centipede" is getting the slot machine treatment complete with an actual "Centipede" game built in.
