Hi I wanted to share with you all my past haunts, back in the day when 20p a play machines were unheard of!

Within a square mile of where I lived were 5 Muzzies that at different times had there best crop of machines.

this post is the SunSpot in Jaywick.

The arcade was looking dated even back in the mid eighties, and at the time the Machines were, for the want of a better expression out of date, there were Gaymer Rifle ranges and tupeny pusher that clearly were adapted from 1d to 2p  however looking back in our time machine you would like to think you would now appreciate what gems were there.

Depth Charge.

This game was made in 1977  and you controlled the ship at the top of the ocean play area, using left and right to emit charges from the ship you had to blast the subs before the got to you.

This game remained there until the early 90s

Space Duel cocktail

Yes thinking back, this game in cocktail was on working at the sunspot, the display was to faint for me to play it, and back in the day it looked like a waste of a 10p  :o

Lunar Rescue

Carl fact, I played this because I was too short to see into Space invaders.

Great sound FX, very memorable. still enjoy playing this in Legends for the PS2.

Other Game there in original Cabs, Night driver- Boot Hill - Battle Zone.

This is how the Sunspot looks now,

It is a covered market and a cafe, there are no Video games there only Adult slots.

If I remember any thing else I will add, all comments welcome.

Yes a very sad case of affairs with really is..but it seems Barcades are the new old school now, well in America anyways..socialising with like mind adults over a Beer or 5 late into the night while reminiscing over classic arcade games from the 80's,90's , now that what I'd call a great news out with friends, leave the family at home they'd only be a detraction lol.

Haha that is so true, the best games I played were on my last 10p by myself, character building  :35:

Sadly true but it was great to see how packed the arcade room was during Florida Supercon.  Clearly, the arcade machines still have an attraction to folks.

Going to the final frontier, gaming...

The forum software messed up the link.  I fixed it.  Gotta look at that with Google Earth (the Earth option shows up in the bottom left).  ;)

In chrome you have to drop the yellow guy on the blue line in the road. I hope it works for you. Its a bit of an eye opener.
