I was surprised not to find a C64 thread (despite there being many posts about homebrews for the system), so I'm going to get it started with a video looking at 100 C64 games in 10 minutes!  Enjoy!

That video makes the C64 look much better than I remember it.

That's because the C64 is to awesome for most people around here to be able to comprehend. Think my favorite game has to be Flimbo's Quest. Excellent Music also

Wow!  One hundred games in 10 minutes.  So, about the same amount of time I used to spending loading a couple of games!!

@Fin - Such a narrow minded view!  You're entirely correct and I agree wholeheartedly of course!  :113:  Love Flimbo's Quest.  I discovered it many years after it'd been released as I'd moved on from the C64 by the time it came out.

Here's a game that doesn't crop up too often.  It's '84, looks incredibly dated but I had a lot of fun playing this especially 2 player.

C64 cliff hanger

Finally there is someone else out there who is normal

If there's any game that's always really, really impressed me about the C64, it might have to be this one:

C64 Longplay - Project Firestart Part 2/4

It just amazes me how 'modern' this game is. (Which I mean in the nicest possible way, of course.) You've got cutscenes, logs to read through, and the presentation just feels so... professional, for lack of a better word.

But yeah, I've never had one, but I've always had a thing for the C64 since I started emulating it, and it's always been my favorite 8-bit computer. I just feel like it has a better game selection, and the SID chip makes nearly anything you play on it sound amazing. It surprises me how little respect it seems to get around here, honestly.

Normal? Sounds pretty boring if you ask me.....

1. conforming to a standard; or expected.
synonyms: usual, standard, ordinary, customary, conventional, habitual, accustomed, typical, stock, common, everyday, regular, routine, average, typical, run-of-the-mill, middle-of-the-road, conventional, mainstream, unremarkable, unexceptional, garden-variety, a dime a dozen

No thanks....I like to be above average, extraordinary, uncommon, above the fray, unique, standing out, exceptional, remarkable, unconventional.

:113: :21: I'm not sure what that's got to do with the c64, Gorf, but, in response, it's worth considering that some people stand out for wrong reasons.

So as this thread doesn't get too far removed from it's purpose, I played Knight n Grail yesterday. A stand out c64 game for lots of good reasons.

Great Video!!!! I spent a lot of time playing some of those games. Plus others, like Agent USA, Buck Rodgers, Crusade in Europe, Storm Across Europe, Beachhead, Knight Games, B.C.'s Quest for Tires, Risk, Raid Over Moscow, Test Drive, Great American Cross Country Road Race, Harrier, Falklands '82, Battle of Britain and all of the arcade favorites.

Great games you've listed.  I especially Buck Rodgers, Knight Games, B.C.'s Quest for Tires and Raid Over Moscow.  I could never get into The Great American Cross Country Road Race.  I came to it after having played thee likes of Pitstop 2 so it always felt a bit clunky and dull to me.

onthinice

Pitstop 2 is an amazing game. One of those games that can be imitated but never replaced.

More games.

Miami Vice, Infiltrator, Dragon Riders of Pern, G.I. Joe, Bop 'n Wrestle, Shogun, Airwolf and Aliens.

Not sure how I ever found time to do homework, but somehow I graduated. :21:
