Here are a couple from Games Master magazine:

And a couple from C&VG GO! magazine:

Looks like they liked Scrapyard Dog.  It's a fun game.  I actually prefer the Lynx version over the 7800 version.  :)

I don't really like platform games and Scrapyard Dog is one of my least favourite Lynx games. I personally preferred the 7800 version though.

Scrapyard Dog is good compared to other jump' n runs on the Lynx, but with jump' n runs generally being a very weak genre on the Lynx that's not saying much really.^^

You can have fun with it, but it is utterly destroyed by dozens of competitors on the Sega- and Nintendo-systems of the time.

What I find interesting is the change of character design in both versions.

On the 7800 the hero looked like an alcoholic child molester.

Look at his nose, the guy drinks whiskey for breakfast! Whoever thought this was an appealing hero for a jump' n run?

They remedied that by cutifying him for the Lynx, but...

... having been turned into a kid someone at Atari still thought it would be cute to give th little boy a freakin' gun! :P
You better believe had the game been more popular and gained more attention someone would have started an outcry and the media would have jumped on the bandwagon.^^

Great stuff as always!

You already posted more reviews here than there probably ever were in German magazines about the Lynx.^^

Robotron, I forget to mention that among my top Lynx games!

I miss the second stick, but Robotron is the kind of game I would never have given a chance because of how it looks, but on the Lynx I tried and was rewarded. The positive turnside of the system not getting the typical big names of the early 90ies. :)

Not wishing to (further) de-rail the Game Gear thread, lol:

From various reviews and gamers comments i've read regarding Double Dragon on the Lynx, it seems to suffer from: Choppy animation, dissapointing sound, 'tunnel-Vision' view area as character sprites were just too large and the Lynx screen resolution meant it was often akward to see what your foes were doing, plus it lacked the oil drum and dynamite weapons+combo's from the arcade game.

So sounds like Telegames might have been better off trading character sprite size for more animation, improving sound etc etc.

I'd very much liked to have seen something like SNES Batman Returns ported to Lynx, that was released same year as D.Dragon and would have been interesting to see how Lynx handled it.

Personally I really like the music:

Think given the Lynx's sound chip, people expected lot more of the arcade sound FX or at least more sound FX in general.
