Quote from: "TrekMD"That's a fairly low score for Zarlor Mercenary.  The score for Ninja Gaiden is very good, though, and more fitting to the title.

Yes I was surprised by the score for Zarlor, I think it is an exceptional game, especially over Comlynx!  :16:

I've never played it with Comlynx but I find the game to be excellent.

Few more, these from ACE:

Ninja Gaiden 715 'Arguably the best incarnation of Shadow warriors yet seen on a home system'.Reviewer seemed unaware initally that Ninja Gaiden was Shadow Warriors.

(Ace went on to give Game Gear version 800).You do get impression that reviewers getting sick to death of Ninja themed games appearing, GG Shinobi also reviewed same issue (recives score of 700).

Pacland 770 'Cute graphics and enjoyable gameplay'.

APB 700 'Classic example of a good conversion of a pretty uninteresting coin-op'

Robotron 2084 837 '...all out blast which should'nt be missed'.

Stun Runner 630 '...technically stunning....close a conversion you could ever wish for...gives idea what Lynx can really do...once inital glamour has worn off, little to recomend it'

Warbirds 836 'Superbly playable advert for Lynx's capabilities' (and review puts the question of wether Wing Commander would be converted to Lynx as the hardware seemed talior made for it).

Quote from: "AmigaJay"Yeah loved Raze mag, great for console and computer games.
Some high scores for those Lynx games.

Just stumbled across ST review of Xenophobe in Zero magazine, thought it might make for a comparison with the Lynx score Raze awarded, it got 67%.

ACE did'nt rate either the ST version (score of 585) or the C64 version (Score of 492) of Xenophobe, said game soons becomes tedious, moving from room to room zapping aliens. ST scored 6 for audio in the review.

WTF  :13:

ST version is excellent, love the music especially.

Doh, posted my bit in wrong place, not re-doing it, but you can see how how other multi-format mag's looked on the St and other versions.Flaw seems to be repetition sets in quickly, so overall score is around the average mark.

Rogue Trooper

Looking at old issue of Gamestm/Retro section/ Classic Machine:Atari Lynx-Six Of The Best:

California Games:Each event played like a dream.

Stun Runner:Forget the hideous ST port, this was the def.home version.

Blue Lightning:stunning looking title.

Robotron 2084:tricky to get hold of now.....still worth tracking down.

Klax:fiendishly addictive.

Alpine Games:..one of the finest looking games avaiable.

My bad.Thought i'd better post some from same section of another format, just to show i was'nt being biased about selecting the NES scores for the other thread and that Gamezone quite happy to not rate Lynx games as highly as other mags have.

I'm all about the balance.

Yet more scans from Raze:

Love the way they somehow managed to get the Turbo Sub and Vindicators screenshots the wrong way round  :o

Hate me if you want, but I think Zarlor could have been better. It has one essential problem for me: It's a vertical shooter played on the horizontal screen. Once again it's notable that  the Lynx vertical resolution is lower than that of GB and GG, there's 42 lines less vertically. That means there is very little reaction time to shoot the incoming enemies, and they take more than a single shot to kill.

The Lynx has the ability to play games vertically for a good reason, and that's how Zarlor should have been  done imo.
