Very interesting. A lot of speculation, especially that Sega "could have tamed" Sony and come out on top but I guess anything's possible. I'm pretty sure Sony was a deadlock from the start-even before Nintendo backed out of the original deal. They weren't in this to stand idly by and watch everyone else cash in. Heck, that's why they tried to get into the business in the first place..

I didn't know Sony had trained their guys with Sega to learn/develop optical disk programming. That info is gold (to me).
