I was chatting with Laird about the wonderful "Atari INC. : Business Is fun" from the brilliant minds of Curt Vedel and Marty Goldberg about a contest they actually ran over at Atari Age months before the book arrived involving a Graphic Design contest for there book by the community if good enough, and so I submitted 2 designs, one my own and and an improved one on theirs.. They app'ed for a title called "Silicon Hot tub" and at no time should it have an Atari Logo.

So I said I'd upload my designs here to show you all what could of been or should of been ?, your choice..

this is there original design

[/align:1x3y2hag]

not bad..but not really good either, considering the incredible content, this book cover simply doesn't do it any justice (feedback from Facebook regarding it)

my submitted Design for the "Silicon Hot tub"[/align:1x3y2hag]

[/align:1x3y2hag]

My improved version of their original idea, and was rejected for what Reason?, I have no idea (maybe the cover was set in stone with the printers etc?

Improved concept on there design[/align:1x3y2hag]
[/align:1x3y2hag]

so judge for yourselves, me I'm baffled as I done these for free in order to help create or contribute to something special and dear to my heart such as Atari is..

anyways just wanted to share with you guys :)

I can see them and I agree your covers look much better  :)

Nice cover Greyfox! That is truly a loss on their part.

Greyfox

ahh well you win some and you lose some..I'm sure they had there reasons, it's just that it was the wrong one  ;D

maybe on there second one, but I feel they might want to keep up the same style and basic form that burdens the first book.

The book sounds like a winner. To me as a consumer it looks dated with the cover choice. Makes me want to save my money.

TrekMD

I can see the images no problem and I do have to say they look very nice!

Going to the final frontier, gaming...

The silicone hot tub cover is fantastic. And your redesign of the other cover certainly adds some zing to it. As has been said, their loss.
