Saw this posted on AA, figured I'd share it here.  For those interested, there is a new 2600 newsletter called 2600 Scene.  It's only been around for a few months but there are three issues on its web page:  2600 Scene.  It's a short newsletter but nice to see someone else trying to get something out there about the 2600.

Cool.  Like I said, these are short so don't expect a magazine's worth of reading material!  :)

Thanks Trek,

This is why I joined this forum because you all seem genuinely interested in cross-platform retro gaming and helping to keep a community spirit very much alive. Like many members, I have my own selfish interests but admire the work you are all doing here. Just a shame, yet also the reason, that such forums didn't seem to exist much back in yester-year when the gaming revolution began. To openly share information from another site is just the community spirit that will not only keep members here coming back but encourage others, as you have said, to try and have a go at supporting the wider gaming community themselves. Thanks, will check out the site myself now :)

You're welcome!  And thanks for that nice post!  :)

You're very welcome. I looked at a couple of the PDF's and they are nice and short but very interesting. Anyone interested in the 2600 should check them out :)

Anyone still checking on this?  The June issue has been out.  You can download it here:  Atari Scene Issue 5.  This issue covers Princess Rescue for the 2600 as well as a history of platformer games on the 2600.

Thanks, I just downloaded the newsletter. I will continue to read these as long as they are being made but, of course, you want to know how broad the interest is and just one or two is not enough sadly. Alas, I don't get on here as much as I would like but I do subscribe and check in when I can.

I'm trying to help them by promoting it here.  Hopefully, they keep making them.  They are brief but nicely done.

Yes, I find it fascinating and appreciate your efforts to help promote their efforts. If not for this forum I would have given up on my Atari stuff. It never ceases to amaze me how much you guys know and the amount of dedicated support there is out there. I know that when circumstances allow, I will have many questions to ask and much money to spend, for sure. Thanks TrekMD for keeping the dream alive!

Well, I certainly hope you keep an eye out for our very own publication:  Homebrew Heroes

lol shameless plug! I have seen that advertised and am very interested. Unfortunately, and I don't want to get too personal on a public forum, but I am skint right now. That said, I have much to be grateful for, not least, my Jaguar console ;) (Atari/RVG is also good). I am no hard-core gamer, more a casual player who will still be playing when I am retired. I've said it before but this really is the best RVGing site I've come across. For me, it is amazing how so many enthusiasts there are who lack a presence on the net, hence this thread. Your collective work is appreciated, thanks.
