All I played was Super Mario World and Donkey Kong Country over the weekend. After I replaced the batteries in those games they had to be started fresh so I dug into them a bit.

I've been playing a lot of Sega's The Ooze, for a podcast. It's actually pretty fun, the problem is that it's just way too hard. It's got a great concept: You're basically this giant puddle of sentient slime that grows by picking up goo left by defeated enemies, and loses slime from taking damage. There's no HUD, so you have to estimate how well you're doing by your size. The smaller you are, the more chance you have of something hitting your head, which causes instant death.

I've gotten up to the second 'world', and I'm afraid that's as far as I'm getting. There's pretty much traps everywhere, like slopes that lead into pits or drains that take your slime REALLY quickly, gas pumps... it just gets ridiculous. I want to keep trying, though, because I love the game's really grungy, gross style it's got to it. It's made by the guys who did Sonic Spinall and Comix Zone, so they were great for that.

The Ooze (Genesis) Stages 1-2

I'm looking forward to talking about this, for real.

This week-end was the AC so I played quite a lot of retro games most specially on the Amiga CD32.

I even made a classification of the fighting games we had. From the worst to the best:
- Dangerous Street
- Rise of the Robot
- Paws of Fury
- Shadow Fighter
- Fight´n Spirit

Nice looking game Bobinator. Being a later release it slipped off my radar. One to track down.

Sounds like a great game Kapturerelease.  Good music always helps.

Cool fighter list Arethius_RGC. A week-end well spent.
