I'm trying to casually get into the Snes guys, I've got the following games:

Street Racer
Super Metroid
F Zero
Tazmania
Cybernator
Super Mario All Stars
Super Mario Kart
Starwing

Anyone got any other good recommendations that would be reasonably cheaply priced?

A few I like:

Super Double Dragon
Magic Sword
Captain Commando
Turtles In Time
Top Gear

Shadowrunner

My SNES collection is pretty small but a couple good ones I have are the first Super Mario World and Blackthorne.  I was also going to say Starfox until I realized Starwing is the same game, never knew it had a different name over there.

It didn't, it was called Star Fox here too.

Good list, Laird!

Desert Strike
Lost Vikings
Super Off-Road
Super Star Wars, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi
Zombies Ate My Neighbors

Super Nintendo/SFC is a hard system for me to recommend titles. There are a number of good games, but some are pricey and others have been done better on other systems.

Not according to Wikipedia it wasn't. It says the Pal versions of both SNES and N64 games had different titles due to copyright.

Hmmm, seems you are right. I could have sworn it was called Star Fox here!

Oh well, I never much liked the game anyway, I had moved onto the Jaguar by then and it just seemed like a poor man's Cyber Morph.

It looks like starting with the Gamecube games they were allowed to use the original name so maybe that's what you were thinking about. It's a fun game but I definitely agree that Cyber Morph is a better game  :113:

Five of my SNES favorites that haven't been mentioned:

Space Megaforce
Ninja Warriors Again
R-Type 3
Tetris Attack
Contra 3

I'm glad the guy in the video mentions slowdown in Demon's Crest as a problem with the game not as a problem with the SNES itself.

I guess that means he knows what he's talking about as opposed to the alternative.

Well it's the limitations of the SNES hardware that cause slowdown, sometimes with clever programming you can get round it though.

I do SNES homebrew, and I honestly can't understand the big deal is with the CPU.  The few times I had slowdown, all I had to do was optimize a collision routine, or a tight loop, and goodbye slowdown.  It takes literally 5 seconds to fix.  Sprite animation management was way more of an issue.

This is a cool video I cam across, Metal Jesus looks at some SNES hidden gems:
