Neo Geo X Gold handheld console has been hacked.

To be fair, this is something we all expected to happen, owners of the system have taken a screwdriver to the SNK system to find a somewhat unsecured method of storing the selection of games on offer; a removable MicroSD card on the motherboard instead of on-board memory.

By taking this unsecured and questionably placed storage card out of its reader, you'll be able to take a look at the handheld's contents, including the game ROMs. To play additional games not included with the device, you'll need to rename the ROM of your choice to that of one found on the device already - tricking the system into booting it up from the system's menu.

Wow, it looks like they didn't even tried to protect it from hacking. Being so simple to hack I don't see a good future for releasing other games on cards..
Don't be surprised, my broken English is legendary!

Yeah, that's what i've been reading, very little if ANYTINg in way of security measures, almost as if it was 'begging' to be hacked.

Lot of folks bought PSP's (and continue to do so) just for the emulation side, wonder if something similar will happen here and they don't really bother much in way of releasing much in way of new games on cards.

Shame they did it that way..kinda cheapens it.
