TrekMD

I was unfamiliar with this game, so I looked up the arcade on YouTube.  The MD is more arcade-accurate because it isn't enhanced like the PC Engine version.  If I'm choosing based on that, my vote goes to the MD.  If I choose based on what version I think is "cooler" to play, my vote goes to the PC Engine.  So, I'm calling it a draw.

Shadowrunner

I have great memories playing this in the arcade so I have to pick the one closest to that which is the MD version.

I think the graphics look a whole load better on the Megadrive version, and making allowance for the enhanced CD sound on PC Engine the MD version has an overall win on Strider.
As an aside I always liked the Strider games, but always sucked at them so it was nice to see a little further into the game  8)

I was actually surprised just how poor the PCE version looks in relation to the MD version, especially as the PCE has more colours and is able to animate sprites much better than the MD.

This is a no-brainer for me, easy win for the MD. With that it pulls one back to 6-2.

I am giving this one to the Mega Drive.

It has larger sprites and loads of parallax scrolling, which is missing in the PCE version.

MD pulls another one back to make it 6-3 to the PC Engine so far.

I'm in agreement there.  The MD wins this one for me as well.

Totally agree, the MD version of Heavy Unit looks and sounds streets ahead of the PCE one. Looks like another game I must try some time too.

Yeah this is easy to pick, MD for sure. With that I'm at 5 - 4 for the MD.
I'd like to try this game too, looks good.

Oops I've slacked on this thread! To catch up:

Thruxton - PCE wins, close call but seems slightly faster and closer to the arcade version.

Ghouls N Ghosts - SG version is better but since this is PCE VS MD! I have to go MD.

Strider - MD version for me, plus the PCE version is CD with arcade card comeon make it fair!
Heavy Unit - PCE wins, MD main sprite looks too big, PCE again looks more accurate to the coin op.

PCE 4 - 5 MD
Rastan 2 - PCE
Afterburner 2 - MD
New Zealand Story - PCE
Super Volleyball - MD
Devil Crash - MD
Thruxton - PCE
Ghouls N Ghosts - MD
Strider - MD
Heavy Unit - PCE

New game time!

Let's look at the Hudson Soft classic Bomberman!

Aren't these 2 different versions (Bomberman and Mega Bomberman) thus making it an unfair comparison?
The Megadrive game seems much better graphically, sonically and also more going on.
Or is it just me being dumb? (<<rhetorical question)
