ACE Rated BOTH at 919, said ST version had dead smooth 4-layer Parallax scrolling and via clever coding had upto 160 colours on screen and the ST sound chip 'pushed hard'.

With Wolfchild I find it almost impossible to pick in between them, the graphics are pretty much identical and it's only the music that is different. The two tunes are both excellent, one is a pure chiptune and the other is more orchestral, both great in their own way.

I have Bio Challenge for the ST and I always thought it was a pretty dull game. It really suffers from no in-game music too which means the Amiga wins with ease.

Wolfchild? never been Core's finest hour.

Music wise:ST version sounds great, but very much like 'game' music where as i much prefer the more 'cinematic' feel to the Amiga version.

Musically I found both the ST & Amiga versions of Wolfchild rather disappointing. (The music on the MD, SNES & MCD is much better).

As for the game, the Amiga version plays better than the ST.

ACE scored ST Blood money at 740, saying it was simpler than the Amiga version (which they scored at 732) and was better for it.Said music+Sound FX were a little weedy and scrolling slightly jerky, but the gameplay was tough, but compelling.

Ok time to revive this, let's look at Thalion's amazing Wings Of Death:

I thought the Amiga one sounded muffled, so I read the comments and true enough it's recorded off winuae, one of the comments even mentions it so much sharper and Bassier on a real Amiga.
Anyway even so I don't think there's much in them, I'm pretty impressed with the ST version as well.

The ST version is so impressive that I just have to give it the win here!  :8:

Mentioned the 'Push Scrolling' on ST version of Midnight Resistance early on in this thread, been reading up on it it with old interview with programmer:

'Fast horizontal scrolling on an Atari ST was always going to be difficult, so i did'nt bother, opting for a 'block shift' technique instead.Lack of time and money meant that scrolling levels were'nt possible'.

So difficult but not impossible, maybe with a little more time and money ST version could have ended up lot better?.

The STE looks more colorful than the Amiga version.  Nice pinball game no matter what.  :)

Going to the final frontier, gaming...
