Not that many versions.  This is a game that could have been ported to the Jaguar!

The Jaguar SHOULD have had Mortal Kombat 3, but Midway never released it despite it being finished.

Damn!  Why did they not release it?!  Particularly if it was complete!  Was the code lost?

They thought it wasn't financially viable I guess, there were strong rumours for a while that Carl Forhan had it as he said that when he got Total Carnage from Midway (which was also finished) there were a couple of other games too. The other was always thought to be Dactyl Joust but he always denies it.

Well, let's hope that he does indeed have it and makes a release at some point.  :)

But hey, at least we got Kasuma Ninja out of it, right? :P Oh, wait...

For me, I'd say the best of the home ports would have to be the Genesis/Mega Drive version. Sure, it's not quite as pretty as either the SNES version. In my experience, however, I feel like the Genesis version actually controls better. Oh yeah, and that whole "blood" thing, too, I guess. Sega CD version has all those loading times and is lacking all that sweet Furniss-osity.

I have never played the MCD version of Mortal Kombat but I have often heard people say its the best version. From the ones I have played the normal Mega Drive version wins.

I am not much of a Mortal Kombat fan. So going by a strictly game play view I say the Sega cart eeks out a small win. That is because I hate load times of any length.

For me is better the SNES version, better graphics (just compare the face of J.Cage on the select character screen), bigger characters, better sound.. but this game without blood is incomplete. Nintendo's censorship was and is really stupid.

I would love to have MK3 on the Jaguar, I'm sure it could have been the console seller Atari needed and today we could have a good fighter on it!!
Don't be surprised, my broken English is legendary!

They missed off the Spectrum version!

The Spectrum is a beast!

WTF! Is that Scorpion battling against a sausage at the end of the vid? :o
