Half Life might be good as a film.  The sci-fi setting.  Those face crabs(reminiscent of 'Alien'), the 'striders' and the other aliens.   Plus, using a gravity gun(like in the second game!).  I love to know who would play the 'G-Man'.

Metroid would be a nice movie if they could catch the feeling of loneliness and the ambient of the games. Scarlett Johansson mmmm.... ;D
Don't be surprised, my broken English is legendary!

Fans of a Fallout inspired film might like to check out The Book Of Eli. No grotesquely deformed mutants, but a post apocalyptic setting with great characters.  The film really captures the look and feel of Fallout 3 without obviously trying to.

Very true actually, I really like that film.

Castlevania would probably make a good movie too thinking about it.

Shadowrunner

Castlevania is an awesome idea for a movie. Surprised they haven't done one already.

OK, I'll give it a go:

- Oddworld
- Warcraft
- Space Quest (yes, really!)
- Half-Life
- Resident Evil 4

But seriously, most of the games with true depth were movies or books to begin with.

I enjoyed Book of Eli, except for the religious connections. There is a fan made Fallout film coming soon:

I would honestly say Contra. Then again, given how much Contra's actually "borrowed" from pretty much any action movie you can name, I'm sure that would be a lawsuit waiting to happen.

Failing that, why not a movie based on Wolfenstien? Just take a WW2 movie, make it about some kind of unstoppable freedom fighter, and have him use mythological artifacts to murder Hitler. Instant box-office smash.

A Wolf 3D movie would be pretty hilarious, also unlikely to be released in Germany!!!!

I have no problem with the religious context.  For me it added a necessary human element to the film that I, and probably a lot of other people, can relate to whether we're religious or not.  It's a fantasy film with fantasy/'fact'asy content  :-  I'm not sure about fanfilms.  It's like fan fiction - great ideas, enthusiasm and can be a lot of fun.  But that's all.  I find the 'low budget' nature off putting.  I remember trying to watch the LoZ fanfilm.  I didn't get past 5 mins.  :(  Maybe I'm missing out but I don't think it's worth the pain!

Some fan films are great, especially the Mortal Kombat:Legacy series. Which was so well received that the man behind it, Kevin Tancharoen will be directing the upcoming new Mortal Kombat movie with a budget reportedly at $40-50 billion.

Heres a link if you havent checked it out before:

If you're wanting another good Mortal Kombat "movie", you could try this. It's two hours long, but still.

It's the story mode from the new Mortal Kombat, only with the gameplay footage cut out so it's only the story. Pretty big spoilers if you were planning on playing this for yourself, as you'd imagine.

I am quite surprised they have not done some low budget King Of Fighters movie
