It looks like it has fair speed gameplay on the emulator. The few GameGear games I have played really lack in the speed department.

Does that mean you disagree? LOL

Rogue Trooper

Thread bump, but just dug out my Gamestm collection to see if it's really worth keeping hold of these days, Clash Of The Titans:

Lemmings-GB VS GG Vs Lynx:

Round 1 Visuals.Winner Lynx, runner up GB, GC versions described as'workman' like, let down by using wrong colours and disproportionate backgrounds.

Round 2 Audio:Winner GB, runner up GG (they think music is slighty too fast).Lynx however...got a bonus point for the speech, but music was described as unrecognisable and unpalatable.

Round 3 Gameplay: Winner GB, runner up, Lynx.

Winner GB and ends with 'If the Lynx version had a quicker cursor however, it might have won'.

Sounds to me like they were using emulation, in fact from that "report" I would say they definitely were! The Lemmings music sounds terrible and really out of tune if the game is played on Handy, it sounds excellent on a real machine. I think I actually have a recording so I will have to upload it when I find it. The cursor speed is also perfectly fine which once again suggests emulation as many Lynx games run slower on Handy.

Yeah in features like that (i know they are 1-page affairs or so), i'd really wished they'd mentioned IF they were using emulators and if so which and if not and it's real Mcoy hardware, which models, as C64 alone has sound issues between early and later SID chips used.

From my limited exp.with emulation, sound is often a key area which seems to take a hit on numerous systems being emulated, just been trying an Amiga emulator on PSP, games that do work, sound is rubbish.

I found the music, I am just converting it to MP3 and then I will get it uploaded to You Tube.

In the mean time listen to how horrible it sounds in this video using emulation!

After viewing both vids, yep, def.sounds like Gamestm used emulators.Chalk+Cheese differences in audio here.

Could'nt see a specific thread for it, but adding to press reviews of handheld versions of Lemmings, GO! Gameboy review:Overall 89% (Look, Feel+Value all recived 8's with Sound getting a 7). Paul Rand+Paul Anglin reviewing, Issue 16/Feb'93 (in case Amiga Jay needs the info).

GB Action:92%

Are most of these game reviews region specific or across the board reviews?

They are from UK magazines, so i'd guess refer to Pal only.

Thanks! So far they sound like some solid reviews.

In this case though there is no PAL, they are handheld games ;)
