It's amazing how many of these artists got round the limits of the machine and avoided the dreaded colour clash.

For those here who may not know the Spectrum can only display 2 colours in each 8x8 block that makes up the screen. One reason why many Spectrum games simply used monochrome graphics because it was much easier and cleaner than having colours bleeding everywhere.
