As many of you will know I have been speaking to a number of ex-Jaguar developers recently about various things for some upcoming articles I am writing. I thought that I would share a few little tidbits with the Jaguar fans here, I am not going to go into too much detail because I don't want to give it all away just yet ;)

  • The ex-developer of Highlander for the Jag CD has told me that the PC version of the game was finished and not released. He has also confirmed that both Highlander 2&3 were well into development but he is pretty sure that neither game was finished although 2 was obviously further along. These games may still be in the hands of another one of the developers!
  • Atari stalwarts Imagitec Design (Raiden, I-War & Dino Dudes among others) have confirmed to me that there were a number of unreleased Jaguar games that MIGHT still be hanging around. More news on this very soon hopefully.
  • A big Jaguar CD article is set to appear in Issue 3 of Pixel Nation magazine, due out next month, that will hopefully put the add-on in a brand new light. This follows up the exclusive Atari Panther article that appeared in Issue 2 that featured unseen screenshots and new information on the abandoned console.
  • I am also speaking with the ex-MD of Rage Software about their history and trying to locate some of the programmers who worked on Jag stuff like Powerdrive and the unreleased Striker and Trash It.
  • We are still working on the Jaguar prototypes from Elite Systems that were talked about in our interview with them, don't worry this hasn't been forgotton about - just be patient!

QuoteHmm, I know this guy that says another guy said that this thing was finished but never happened because this other guy made sure that the other guy didn't get the other thing . . .

I know this guy who completely missed the part where I said I had spoken with the actual coders, not some 3rd party  ;)

Quote from: "zapiy"I am lost lol?

That was the response when somebody posted this elsewhere.

TrekMD

The comment Laird quoted was posted elsewhere.  I did a facepalm when I saw it.

A few more snippets:

  • Imagitec had 3 games unreleased for the Jaguar CD - an RPG, Space Junk and Freelancer 2120
  • They were also working on a sequel for Evolution: Dino Dudes
  • Imagitec devloped their own custom engines and routines that made cross porting games much simpler
