I'm happy to see the the battle but I did lean more towards the 7800 when I was not undecided. :-

I pick the Sega Master. I know it is not on the list but that is my favorite.

I like the 7800 for nostalgia reasons. We use to play this in school when the one computer the school owned was open for play. Now that is old school.

Fami/Nes version picks up the win. I do like the sound better on the 7800.

I think I prefer the graphics on the 7800 version due to the parallax scrolling and the much bigger tanks and buildings on the first level but I am going to give the win to the NES because it has more levels and offers some variation to the game.

Maybe I should not be shocked Laird, if you are having fun with the DS and Intellivision games. Then there might be some Nes hope for you yet! :)

Rogue Trooper

I'm a sucker for Parallax Scrolling so 7800 version got off to great start, plus far better audio than the Nes ( OMG my ears are bleeding!) version, but Nes version does seem lot brighter, where as 7800 version seems to suffer from a more murky choice of colours.

Which pad offers better play?...always found the Nes pad to be awful for long periods of play.

So..undecided, though IF i went with Nes, it'd have to be with TV volume turned right down.

That 7800 video is murky, the game doesn't really look like that. It's was just that the other videos I found were too short or had commentary.

Try this one to see how it really looks - just make sure you mute the idiot talking over it.

Rogue Trooper

Much better video, 7800 it is then, might be shorter, lacking some things from Nes ver.but it's got my vote.

As for chap talking on the video? BACK OFF THE MIC!

I'm voting 7800 here.  Why?  The 7800 version is a port of the original game and is more faithful to it.  The NES port is actually a port of the arcade version of Choplifter which is why it has all the extra elements.

Shadowrunner

I have to give this one to the 7800, just looks better to me.
They did an HD remake of this a while ago that I really enjoyed.

Yeah my brother got that on the Xbox 360, I thought it was pretty good.

How funny that I am the only person to vote NES, although I have to say I really like the 7800 game.

After watching both videos, and before I scrolled down and read this post from Laird, the above was what I was going to post. I don't know about more levels so based on just the videos Atari wins.

Boy, choosing here is not as clear cut.  The 7800 version has graphics that are closer to the arcade (the background detail is higher than that of the NES) but animation and sound is better on the NES.  I'm giving this one to the NES by a hair.
