Hello there pixel addicts!

We're back! Not that we were really away, but we've had a lot of things to deal with and we've been a bit overwhelmed. We'd like to address some of the questions that we've been asked to let you know about our cu
rrent situation, what's to come and more...

Let's start with the big question: what on Earth happened to the "upcoming books" that you talked about???
Well, it's a long story, but it's good one with a happy ending!
Despite being on the French and English market, we're still a very small company. We've published quite a variety of books in French, some rather popular, some that could be considered as "niche". Since we received some great feedbacks from our readers, we decided to expand the (pix'n) love to the English market, and that's a tough task! We've launched the History of Nintendo vol. 1, and after that we released volume 2. That's when things started to become complicated. In a nutshell, we've had a few minor setbacks and for a company as small as we are, anything "minor" actually feels worse.

Let's be completely honest as to what happened exactly: the so-called setbacks actually involved our money and some of our books being stolen by one of our own employees! On top of that, some orders were not sent, hence the many problems with shipments. Before we could realise what had taken place, the damage had already been done, financially of course but our image suffered from this as well. Of course, we put an end to this and we're slowly getting back on our feet.
(hear the happy ending coming?)

We've managed to sort out some of our problems, others are being dealt with and we're happy to announce the upcoming release of our next books for... October! That's right, just one month before you can put your hands on 3 brand new titles.
First, the big one: The History of Sonic! A massive Sonic bible, with SEGA's own stamp of approval (something we worked hard to get!). And since all Sonic fans were pretty vocal about this, we decided to get some help from our friends at Udon to make sure this book get printed in big numbers for all of you Sonic maniacs!

Second, a true masterpiece about one of the greatest minds in video game history: the Gunpei Yokoi biography! If you've read The History of Nintendo vol. 2 (and also if you haven't!), this is a "behind the scenes" documentary. You'll learn everything about a man who truly revolutionized the video game industry. His influence can still be felt today.
And last but not least, the History of Mario! Unlike the History of Sonic, this book takes a scholarly approach to the icon we all know. Through an extensive study of archives, websites and interviews, the author takes us down memory lane before Mario even had a name. You might think you already know everything about Mario, well think again!

The first one to be released should be the Yokoi bio, followed by the History of Sonic and shortly after, the History of Mario (by the end of the month, as it takes some time to print all the books)

The Yokoi and Mario books are already available for pre-order on our website: http://www.pixnlovepublishing.com/ . We would like to thank all the people who have already pre-ordered these books for their patience. We know it's been delayed several times and we understand your concerns. We hope these two titles will be worth the wait and we promise we won't make you wait this long again!

Don't forget: you can also get all the news and contact us in 140 characters or less on Twitter: @pixnloveuk.
And you can also follow us on our brand new Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pixnloveenglish
Once our next publications are out there, we will probably run a poll on our website and/or on our Facebook page to ask you which titles you'd like to read next. You'll be able to pick from a wide range of titles that have already been published in French.

Wow, I can't believe one of your own staff was stealing from you - that really sucks!  >:(

Thanks for the update anyway, the History Of Nintendo book is great and I look forward to getting more in the future.

I was going to say the same thing.  That is terrible.  Glad that you are getting back on your feet despite the setbacks.

Going to the final frontier, gaming...

Well, let bygones be bygones. The important thing is we're back on track and I'm really happy about that.

The Gunpei Yokoi bio is probably my favourite book among all the other titles that have been/will be published.

But I think the History of Sonic will be the most successful title. Sonic has many fans but in all honesty, so should Yokoi!  ;)

About the Amiga bible: it's definitely something we would like to translate, along with the PC-Engine and NES bibles. The main concern is that they're really big books and it'll take a lot of time and some money to have them translated.
But somewhere along the road, once we're really established I don't see why it couldn't happen!

Like I said earlier, to pick our next book we'll probably run a poll to let people decide. I'm pretty sure the Amiga bible will get many votes so who knows? It might even be our next book!

Can I suggest a rewards system.

Your books are brilliant but have many people will repeat buy at £25? Half? Maybe less.

So if you had a reward system that perhaps gave people 1 point per penny.  So 2499 points per book.

Now maybe something like a 10000 points gets you the next book half price.

Just an idea to encourage people to buy more books.

that's great to hear thank you..fingers crossed..maybe one year you guys might allow an Atari ST Bible one to be made..in both English and French also, as there was a good amount of Software companies that did stuff exclusively for the French Atari ST market and our very own Admin The Laird is a guru on the Atari ST and all thing Atari and would be a fantastic collaborator and author for such a project if Pix'N'Love where interested in it..

fingers crossed :)

Book suggestions can definitely be made. If anyone has written a book and is considering having it published, please contact me and I'll forward it to the people in charge.

About the reward system, we have something like that in France so why not do the same for the English market. The rewards are either games, action figures, T-shirts, etc... That's definitely something I'll suggest for the future.
