I have the awesome light gun, as it also works with the 7800.

I really want to get an XE at some point, I really do think its one of the best looking consoles out there. I used to own an Atari 800 XL computer with a disk drive but never used it and when somebody offered me £60 for it I decieded to sell it (it only cost me £10!). After that I have always said I will get an XE as it takes up much less space and there are some pretty amazing homebrews avaialble for it. You can also now get the Atari Max flash cartridge which can hold hundreds of games so takes up even less room!

Yep, I have wanted that light gun because of all the good things I have heard about it. I have an Atari 400 so that is why I have not bought an XE yet. Sounds like you did well on selling your 800XL. Thanks for the information about the Atari Max flash cartridge.

I'd love to get an XE as well!  Looks like it has a fun library of games and the system itself looks pretty nice.  I like the fact that it can be used as a computer with the keyboard.  Who wants a toy robot on a gaming system?  ;)

Atari really pushed the boat out with advertising back then  ???

onthinice

Maybe it would have sold better with a robot or a dog snickering at you?

Shadowrunner

Those old ads are hilarious! LOL
The marketing guys sure knew how to lay it on.
