I wasn't aware SoR was released on Gamegear. Do you think it would be a decent pickup? I know it's looking extremely bland when compared to everything else in that video but out of all of them, it's the only hardware I have access to for now.

Also have you tried SoR Remake? Since the SoR4 release, I keep hearing the name pop up all over SoR4 Steam forums. Apparently its got a lot of new things added to the game.

Mine's September, so TurboGrafx-16? Only going off Google so might be different.  Anyway, something I've never played on, so not sure what to think.  Should I be happy?  ???

Final Fight is a really good one. It's my favourite for sure. MAME would be the best place to play it but there have been console versions. I have it on the PS3 where it's called Final Fight Double Impact but I'm not sure if it's on other modern consoles.

Other arcade games if you do have access to MAME, The Punisher, Mutation Nation, and the Sengoku games are all really good.

Can you explain MAME? I understand that MAME is like an arcade machine but what's the difference between say playing Streets of Rage on MAME and playing it on one of the systems it was released for like MegaDrive? Does one perform better than the other or have some advantage?

Alright, so as a kid I only really played the SoR series, with 2 being my favourite.  With the release of SoR4, it's got me back into playing these games, but I've never actually played anything other than SoR.  Where do you guys recommend me starting and on which games?

Just name the game or series and the system it plays best on and I'll take a look.

I'd like to go back and play all the goodies I missed out on playing but also if you have any suggestion for new / up to date games, that'd be cool too.

Not arrived yet, del date of 7th Jan.

Where did you order from? Was it out of stock?  I've only seen a few places who seem to sell 8Bitdo controllers in the UK.

Well I ordered one, will feedback my opinions soon.

Did you receive one?  Which did you go for?

My DS3/4 controllers are giving me issues via bluetooth.  Considering getting one of these as I think it'll be much more compatible, especially if I buy their bluetooth dongle also.

That's cool.  Are you enjoying the games despite the trial and error?

GOG tells me I've almost played it for 6 hours already, so I must be  :D.

Many early attempts I couldn't even defeat a single enemy.  Now I have an easy game going where I have an idea of what I'm doing and managing to keep a strong army for now.

I have my eye on some more old games, maybe you've heard of them and have any thoughts on what they are like?

Dragon Wars
Drakkhen
Realms of Arkania 1 & 2
Ultima Underworld 1 & 2
Forgotten Realms - The Archives (this is a D&D game, here's the link https://www.gog.com/game/forgotten_realms_the_archives_collection_one)

Nothing physical to show but I recently bought Heroes of Might and Magic 1-4 and also Tender Loving Care on GOG.

Having never played any Might and Magic games before, these have taken some trial and error to figure out what I'm doing.

You must really love this game!  The cabs look amazing but if I got bored of wanting to play the same game after 6 months, it's just sitting there doing nothing.

I would love something like this.  I currently use my PS4 controller.  I want to try my arcade stick out on some of the arcade games though, I want to see if it feels a little more like I experienced at Arcade Club.

Yep once I get more info I will post it here.

I was doing some reading last night and it appears it is going ahead and they are opening early 2019.  I was planning to return to the one in Bury in February with my girlfriend and Dad but if one is going to open soon, hopefully it's before or not long after February.  Will save me money a little on train fares than travelling to Bury.

Well, this is becoming a possability, they are opening a bar in Leeds, that is more central for me and therefore more doable.

Hows that?

Didn't realise this. If so, sounds great. Last article I could find was from September, so I wonder when we might hear more on this. It will take some doing to make it as good as the one in Bury.

I went to this place very recently for the first time.  We went on the 24th of last Month and we was part of a group from another forum.  This place is a blast!  I loved the machines they had, super easy to just jump on and play and move onto the next machine.

While the OP posted this a while back, they indeed have two floors now.  Top floor for retro arcade and then the second floor for Japanese arcades and more retro games pinball machines, new and old consoles (this floor is 18+ only).

I'm hoping to return at some point but, next time take my girlfriend and my dad. My dad would love the place and while my girlfriend isn't much of a gamer, I feel she would love the place also.  Transport there doesn't seem too bad, just something I need to get used to.  Quick trip over to Manchester Piccadilly on train and then apparently they have a tram that runs straight up to Bury.

Also picked up these in the store.  I wish they had more selection in the store though.  Pikachu was £9.99 and for my daughter, who has since become attached to it.  :)

Announcements and Feedback / Re: Forum Changes

As others have pointed out, the forum is cluttered and needs looking at.  I like the archiving old threads idea if they haven't had a response in 12 months, if someone posts in the thread while archived, move it back over to the main section.

Myself, I do visit the place, albeit not always logged in.  Plus I don't play retro games all that often at the moment, so that plays a part in why I have nothing useful to add to any threads.

Found a bike game I'm enjoying trying to beat each level.  It's called Enduro Racer on the Sega Master System.

Another game I want to delve into more is Starflight on the Sega Genesis/MegaDrive.  Really reminds of the top quality games I've played on PC like Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous.
