Legend has it that long ago an ancient, but advanced tribe worshipped the fabled and great golden idol Myclops. The tribe were prosperous and rich, but one day, inexplicably, all trace of them vanished leaving their technology, riches and most importantly- the fabled idol behind. To this very day, deep underground, it is said that Myclops slumbers awaiting an intrepid explorer to navigate the caverns and bask in the great golden idol’s glow.

Ancient technology, possibly left behind by the tribe, is said to protect the fabled and great golden idol from prospectors. Other hidden and grave dangers include perilous boulders, toxic bones, poisonous deadly fungus and of course the three monster guardians â€" Harry, Barry and Larry. The guardians roam the caverns protecting the riches and guard the great golden idol Myclops. However, centuries of living underground has nulled their senses. They cannot see and cannot hear although they’ll sometimes smell you coming! They wander aimlessly through the cavern tunnels. Sometimes a quick side-step is all that is needed to evade their toxic touch!

Story

You start with just 100 units of oxygen. Beware! Being underwater will slowly diminish your oxygen levels, as will touching the dangerous creatures and plants found beneath the waves. You can restore oxygen by returning to the surface to breathe or, alternatively, find submerged air bubbles to top up your supply.

You can shoot harpoons to paralyse your enemies temporarily but use them wisely as your supply is limited. Recovering artefacts earns you extra harpoons. Good luck â€" Mary Lou is waiting!

I am shocked to learn Curt has passed away, I have had the please to speak with him a few times during my dealings with Atari related things for RVG.  Curt has contributed massively to the retro scene and will be missed by us all.

The Story

Acorns … Magic acorns. In the world of Pentacorn Quest, acorns are made of solid gold, have great power and magic, and are a cause of dispute between the forces of Light and Darkness. But while these two factions went to war, the acorns mysteriously disappeared.

The objective of the game is to find the five missing acorns. It is rumoured that they are hidden in The Crack, but whoever ventured to this place came back empty-handed. It is now up to you to find the acorns and deposit them in the sacred sanctuary, solving many enigmas in between.

Pentacorn Quest is a mix of platformer and arcade adventure, with eight different types of enemies to avoid, countless puzzles to solve and a magical world to discover.

Phoenix Ware a subsidiary of Bitmap Soft, imagine Psygnosis and Psyclapse, ok we are not anywhere in that league but you get my point.

The aim of Phoenix Ware is to release compilations, budget titles, re-releases and some other wonderful game-related things we have not even imagined yet.

The style and feel of this label will be very much with an 80’s vibe, the games will all come with a templated design like those from The Hit Squad publisher BITD.

All games will have this template, at least for tape releases.
