If you've got PS+ you'd do far worse than pick up Whoa Dave! for a freebie rental. It's new, but the most retro game I've played in ages. And it's awesome.

Duke Nukem 3D on the Vita counts as retro, right?

So that.

I don't remember it appearing on the eShop either, but there it was when I was having a browse!

Need to get back to Mega Man 7 soon, but Fantasy Life on the 3DS has consumed 26 hours of my real life since Christmas day, and Hyrule Warriors has taken a big chunk too, so not sure when that's going to happen!

For some reason, I bought Pop'N TwinBee: Rainbow Bell Adventures and then completed it. It was great!

I have a NES one, a Master System one, and a Game Boy one. The GB one sticks out the top by miles, and just in case you didn't think it was big enough already, it has a compartment in it for the book of codes!

Finding a boxed Steel Battalion like that must be quite expensive nowadays.

Incredible game for page 69!

Anyway, I finished up Mega Man 5, finally, and have made a start on Mega Man 6. Slightly sad to be seeing the final NES one. Still, at least I've 7, X2 and X3 lined up!

Then maybe the Game Boy games. How do that compare to the NES ones? From what I've read, they seem to be a mix of two NES titles each with some unique bits. e.g. some bosses from MM1 and MM2, or MM3 and MM4. Is that right?

I'm glad you're making your way through the NES saga. The Mega Man games were always some of my favorites when I was growing up, and they absolutely stand the test of time. The first four Mega Man Game Boy games do recycle some elements from the NES games--particularly the bosses and weapons, and some of the levels share design elements--but overall everything is redone to work on the Game Boy hardware. Mega Man V is the only Mega Man game on the handheld that offers a totally unique set of bosses and level designs.

Excellent, thanks. I'll exhaust the Wii U VC then and move onto the 3DS :)

Having said that, Mega Man Zero for the GBA appeared on the Wii U this week, so it may be a while...

Don't even have to think - Run Baby Run.

Head and shoulders above any other game.

2nd and 3rd go to Mario 64 and New Super Mario Bros U, although I'm not 100% sure on the order.
