Shipping cost is $20 for pretty much anywhere in the world. Oof! They'll probably appear on UK sites at some point, like Funstock or suchlike. I'll wait until then...

This is more like it! Only time will tell whether $20 is a reflection on quality or a genuine reasonable price. I think it looks ace. I'd have one, but what colour? I have grey, blue and yellow original controllers. I quite like the standard grey to be honest. Not sure about the translucent coloured idea though. I couldn't see any shipping costs knocking around, particularly to the UK.

£44, really? I hadn't even looked at prices but that's just crazy. I've got a negative view of pricing in the 'retro' scene generally and think £30 is taking the piss for a book, but £44 is taking that to the next level.

Love it. There are some belters in there. What are your favourites? Maze Craze and Sword Quest both look impressively bad lol.

What's the problem? I'm sure there are plenty of companies in Shenzhen willing to churn these out and it's not like Nintendo are short of industry experience. I really don't get it. They could literally sell millions of these things.

The stretch goals look good, I like the sound of the system poster. This is what stretch goals should be!Collectible shit, not an extra 100777 accumulated pages... I agree with the cover not really reflecting the content design. Could do with reviewing I suppose.

We've seen a lot of re-issue/re-make/throwback consoles over the years; stuff like the OUYA, Retron 5, ZX Spectrum Vega, Atari Flashback, even Sega Forever would fall into this bracket. An eclectic mix of ideas but as far as i can tell most of them fall far short of the mark.
The Official Nintendo Classic series seems to have took the bull by the horns and delivered (and will deliver..!) what people expect.
But what do we actually want? Do we even know? What would make the ultimate retro machine?
A software app with a subscription to digital distribution? Dedicated hardware based on original designs with FPGA based emulation. Built in games and/or subscription based service. Single or multi format? Developer or distributor based? Exact replica Bluetooth controllers? Would we buy physical media? Do we want new games on new systems based on old franchises and gameplay?
I just don't know...

Don't wait.......SPECULATE!! Is it a Netflix style system? Will it be like the OUYA and fail just as spectacularly? Do Atari even know what it is, or what it wants to create? Is that why they're 'holding back' information in the hope that we'll speculate and they can gauge what we want as consumers? 4K Pacman!

Yeah it's the modern aspect that's interesting. I guess the retro stuff is a straight forward question of what systems are emulated. Is this some sort of Android based stuff or more bespoke, I wonder. I reckon it will be fed from the web at least.

What's the speculation about what this thing will do then?

It's a bit obscure. It's only played briefly when a level is loading, if I remember correctly.

This track sounds very similar to one found in an Atari Jaguar game. Can you think which....? Listening recently I thought "that sounds familiar", then it hit me! (although I've not actually checked if I'm right yet.....) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvSMY8GDdo4

Lakers v Celtics is down to £2900 now. Still crazy money but was up to £9300 a few days ago. He must have had a couple of bell ends bidding.

I've been playing a lot of Mortal Kombat X recently. This has led to looking back at previous games and the franchise history so this is a well timed post for me mate cheers! Good example of cheap tactics on the players behalf though, especially with Sub-Zero. Lol.
