Going purely off memory here (never a good thing in my case)...MD version was the host development platform for EWJ, with SNES version written alongside?.

There was 'talk' of a 32X version, but having seen the PS1 version, even had it come out, would'nt have expected much other than sharper resolution, more colours, clearer speech samples etc.

I'm a sucker for Parallax Scrolling so 7800 version got off to great start, plus far better audio than the Nes ( OMG my ears are bleeding!) version, but Nes version does seem lot brighter, where as 7800 version seems to suffer from a more murky choice of colours.

Which pad offers better play?...always found the Nes pad to be awful for long periods of play.

So..undecided, though IF i went with Nes, it'd have to be with TV volume turned right down.

Future Strike (Trailer shown once you complete Nuclear Strike on PS1) was turned into Future Cop LAPD (great game, even if not a Strike game), so guess even back then designers/publisher unsure where to take series.

Great to see some Super Cars 2 and Midwinter fans here. Recal reading in ARCADE magazine of plans for a new Midwinter game on PS2, but sadly that came to nothing.

Think with 'todays' tech and online as standard, the potential for a new Midwinter game is immense, would love to see it happen.

Supercars 2? just seems talior made for iOS/PSN/XBLA.

The Strike series been mentioned (and rightfully so), know E.A did attempt a reboot few years back (along with Syndicate+Road Rash) but gave up and since then, having played to completion the Syndicate reboot, it's clear E.A only interested in the name's as it were, what made the originals special does'nt seem to be a concern anymore.

I'd have loved to have seen Overboard (PS1) given the HD and PSN treatment, along with new instalments to Colony Wars and G-Police on PS3, but Sony seems to have ignored these, sadly.

Gremlins Super Cars 2 on PSN/XBLA would have been brilliant as well.

C64 Dan Dare re-done in say the Unreal 3 Engine, new Midwinter, Hunter, Last Ninja, Turrican games as well, MS really should'nt have canned Freelancer sequel on 360, love to see System Shock 3, not a dumbed down Bioshock game, Unreal 3 (proper SP game with MP modes, not the other way around), Tempest 2000 or 3000 on PSN/XBLA, new Iron Solider game...could list stack more...

Not gaming as such (been on short turn-around wk, so zero time for it as such), but due to something being up with my broadband, gone back to dial up speeds for online.I swear my Dreamcast and 33K modem loaded pages quicker than what i've been getting past few days.

Hope to get some Retro in on my days off mind.

Off the topic of my head and in no particular order:

Seeing 3D Monster Maze (and later 3D Defender and Mazogs) on the ZX81, if it was'nt for that? probably never have gotten into gaming.

Dungeon Master on the Atari 520STFM, just jaw dropping.

Hearing my 1st Rob Hubbard music on the C64 and the SID chip in itself (also speech in Beach Head 2).

Seeing rolling video footage of AVP on Jaguar on Gamesmaster TV show-Up until then all the Aliens games i'd played had been 2D.

The T-Rex demo on the sampler CD you gpot with the Playstation.

This takes me back a good few years. Not seen since i had on the 2600, used to love it, though at that age had no idea it was an arcade conversion.

CPC versions sound FX are awful!.Sounds like somethings interfering with TV channel.

Prisoner Of Ice on PC CD.Superbly atmospheric point n click affair.

I'm very interested in this thread and would love to see it continue with more  comparisons.

Commando then? 7800 version gets my vote.Nes sprites seem better defined, but the helicopter and few other areas seem to suffer sprite flicker and colours looked more washed out than on 7800.

Music i much prefer on 7800 (even though nothing holds a candle to Hubbards C64 Commando music).

Quote from: "Mire Mare"Hello fella. Always a fan of Nemesis the Warlock myself :)

Judge Dredd (and Andersion), Nemesis, Rogue Trooper, ABC Warriors, Stront.Dog and Future Shocks my fav.2000AD stuff, recently started getting into Zenith as well.

Great to see a fellow 2000AD fan on here. (i hate the newer stuff though, has to be classic 'AD for myself).

Voted XL/XE myself, 1st version i had and still prefer the music over the C64 version.

Not overly struck on the ST or CPC music, if i'm honest with you.

Only ever played the ST version (think it was part of in game pack), fiendishly hard and best mate and i used to squabble over the speech at start, i, in my youthful ignorance swore blind it said Get Ready 1!, where as he swore blind it was Sector 1.

Recal seeing the C64 version reviewed in Zzap64, but never in motion, as it were, seems to move at a fair pace, but lego-land type visuals, very impressed by Speccy version (words i seem to be saying lot more as i view more games on it), CPC seemed to struggle though, painfully slow.

Different teams write each version?.
