It has been a few years since my latest release on the Sinclair ZX81 and Commodore PET, but I am happy ' to finally announce a new game for these platforms, called Mage: The Enchanted Crystals

While working on his latest and powerful spell,Wizzy's father was being watched by others. As a precaution, he captured the spell inside a crystal and divided it into 4 pieces, which he buried inside the mines, just south of your village. It is now up to you to collect these pieces and bring them together inside the enchanted chest to ensure the spell doesn't fall into the wrong hands.

Game Trailers:

Sinclair ZX-81 version:

Commodore PET version:

Features:
- Available on Tape and as Digital Download
- Large world to explore
- Colored graphics via Chroma81 interface on ZX81 (native)
- Internet Highscore uploading
- Online rewards
- Support for AY-sound boards
- ZXpand joystick interface support

Review Video:
You can check out the ZX81 game in action here: https://youtu.be/a5kV1H9kn20
(Playthrough by Villordsutch)

In contrast to my previous games for these systems, which were a bit smaller and very arcade like, this is a more complex game with a larger world to explore.

For more information on this any many of my other games for the Sinclair ZX81, Commodore PET, Commodore VIC20 or any of the other systems i support, please check out my website at: http://www.revival-studios.com

Watch out for more new game releases coming later this year!

Hi Guys,

Retro Event 2013 is a retro gaming event combined with a retrogaming-fair that attracts many people from across europe. We have visitors and exhibitors from the UK, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands and Austria at our event.  Ofcourse there are lots of classic gaming items for sale and trade, but this is more than just the fair.

We have:
- A mini-museum part with various playable consoles and kiosks
- A dedicated Homebrew area with well known homebrewers from across europe present covering all platfroms from commodore to vectrex.
- Many new homebrew releases or exclusive first-looks at new projects at the event.
- Free retro giveaway between 16.00 and 17.00 where a new retrogaming item is given away each minute!

And then we have an evening-program as well, with:
- presentation on how to build your own arcade cabinet
- Q&A session with C64 developer "boys without brains" , known for games like Hawkeye, Flimbo's Quest and Disposable Hero
- On-stage Performance by videogame music legend Jeroen Tel (Maniacs of Noise)

The event is close to the german border and only 800m from the local trainstation, so it is very accessable for people abroad as well. If you live anywhere NEAR the netherlands there is no reason not to visit!

Thanks for the comment.

Not a bad idea! Believe it or not, this game is very accessable / easy to pick up. There it is very popular amongst females and/or kids (i did a version of this game on other systems like the videopac). My girlfriend doesnt play all of my games, but she sure likes this one.

Homebrew Chat / NEW COMMODORE VIC-20 GAME RELEASE - Avalanche (2012)
« on: October 16, 2012, 22:14:11 PM »
Avalanche is a fun action game people can just pickup and play. The player has to shoot the various gems that are falling down from the top of the screen.
The gems are marked with symbols and the player has to match up the symbol of his ship with the symbol on the gems.

https://youtu.be/CnGaxCwaeuU

The speed of the game will automatically increase during gameplay. Shoot strategically and get combos of 4 similar gems in a row to decrease speed and gain extra points.

Game features:
- Available on Tape and as Digital Download
- Runs on the unexpanded Commodore VIC-20
- Easy to pickup and play type of game
- Multicolored Graphics
- Flickerfree gameplay

Correct, the music is just for the trailer.

However, the game does support most AY-expansions and plays sound effects through them!

Do you have a PDF of the Catalogue?
Sorry, no not at this moment. It is free with any order.

Also, just letting you know this game scored a 90% review score (and Retro-Sizzler award) in the latest RetroGamer magazine. For those that don't own this magazine, i've uploaded a photo of the article/review on my website.

Homebrew Chat / Re: Cavity...New Videopac And Odyssey2 Game
« on: October 16, 2012, 22:00:30 PM »
Thanks guys...

good news that i am working on other platforms as well (ZX81 and most recently the Commodore VIC-20). The ideal situation is to have 4 releases a year for each of these platforms (including the videopac), which means there is 1 more release left for the videopac for this year which should come out around the end of november.

Just had the game on live on display this weekend (the first european event to host this game) and the people really were impressed with the game.

Should anyone be interested: I also have printed catalogues with all games for the different platforms i support, including screens and info on some upcoming stuff for the videopac, zx81 and more. The catalogue will be sent with each order.
