Yeah we had a +2, i remember playing with the rubber keyed 48K at school at not liking the keys, I was glad we got the +2 model with decent keyboard!
Our first computer was a Commodore 16, but that was truly pretty dire to say the least! I tend to forget that era from my memory!
Just great memories of the Speccy, my dad typing out a hangman game in 3 hours! Going into Whsmiths and John Menzies with my pocket money and buying yet another footy management game for £1.99! It really was the app store of the 80's!
Who cared if it had colour clash and took 45 mins to load that flight sim...kids had patients back then! Ok i drooled at the C64/Amiga screenshots in the adverts, then looking back at the yellow roads and cars of the spectrum version! but it was still the same game!

Baseball Stars 2 - loved playing this in a seedy arcade in Brixham many years ago!
Metal Slug X - couldnt decide, so went for best of first two!
Top Hunter - really nice platformer
Neo DriftOut - fun racing game
Super Sidekicks 4 - footy fun
Windjammers - really love this game, great fun!
Pulstar - amazing SEU!
Blazing Star - another amazing SEU!

final 2 choices were my fav beat em ups, with so many to choose, someone had to lose out!

Has to be Megadrive, after the late start of the Master System after the NES, Sega needed something to counter Nintendo, and it came back with the coolest machine on the block which every self respecting gamer owned!

Yes the real shame is the story behind the system, because it was all set up to be a nice system, with deals in place for dl music, films, game deals with big publishers in place, and at the time was the cheapest gps unit on the market, of course though with $300 million blown in one year on partys, cars etc it all went tits up.
More of a shame because the actual Gizmondo was ok, sure the battery was naff, though the premium one was much better, the d-pad wasnt the best but still playable enough, and the booting took a minute (tip leave it in standby), but the games in general were average to good and theres more unreleased games and betas to try online giving around 30 games, of course if u unlock the firmware, u can play loads of emulators, wince, ppc games, so at least early adaptors got something in the end!

Hi guys, just a little intro about myself, grand old age of 35 now, been gaming since i was 3, so 1980 odd, and have owned pretty owned much all the main, and quite a few obscure machines in my 30 years of gaming.

I have also made other numourous sites gaming sites over the last 15 years, though most don't remain now, they included NGPCUK from where neo-geo.com got help with their masterlists after it closed, and LynxUK which ran for 3 years but strangely got hacked into and deleted the week before the Lynx section of AtariAge opened oooh!
